If the nature of your work means that you are internationally mobile, it’s likely you’ve stayed in more hotels than you care to remember.
After a while, even the most luxury hotel chains can become interchangeable, each offering the same branding and décor. Often you may have had to look out of your hotel room window to remind yourself where you are.
Serviced apartments can provide a great alternative. Effectively, they can offer the equivalent of a luxury flat, without the hassle or cost of having to buy or rent one yourself.
As a “home from home” all apartments are well-equipped and provide kitchen areas, lounge, and separate bedrooms.
They also provide many of the facilities you get in hotels, such as swimming pools, spas, and restaurants.
I’ve used serviced apartments myself, and highly recommend them
So, having told you about the advantages, now discover some of the best that are available in Hong Kong.
1. Artus K11, Victoria Dockside
Artus provides a personalised luxury hotel service for guests in a serviced apartment.
In terms of cost, it’s certainly high-end, but you get a cost-appropriate level of luxury and facilities, so you never feel short-changed.
As well as the individual design of each apartment, the layout in the communal areas of the complex is perfect for relaxed gatherings. This makes it a great place to meet and entertain both friends and clients.
2. Little Tai Hang, Tung Lo Wan Road, Causeway Bay
Little Tai Hang near to Causeway Bay was recommended to me by one of my clients.
It’s often described as a “hidden gem” on specialist serviced apartment websites. In fact, Little Tai Hang actually offers three gems.
The boutique brand has three unique and beautifully designed buildings in the heart of one of Hong Kong’s most authentic neighbourhoods.
The dining and hospitality offers a great bolthole away from the hustle and bustle in the area.
It also delivers wonderful views of Victoria Park from many of the superbly appointed apartments.
3. Two MacDonnell Road
This is another serviced apartment facility that has been recommended to me by a client.
In contrast to Little Tai Hang, its location in the Central Mid-Levels area which means it’s also slightly out of the city centre but still on Hong Kong Island. While this makes it a bit of a trek down to, or worse (in summer) up from the MTR, you’re only a short journey away from Central.
Two MacDonnell Road is the perfect short- and long-term living solution for travellers and expats seeking a place that feels like home. It offers a range of superbly furnished rooms with great views of Hong Kong’s familiar skyline.
Set in a quiet neighbourhood, it justifiably sells itself as a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city.
4. The HarbourView Place, West Kowloon
It’s back over to the Kowloon side for my fourth recommendation.
As the name suggests, the HarbourView Place offers a wonderful vista across Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula.
The fully furnished suites are kitted out with all the facilities you’ll need for day-to-day living.
As an additional feature, you can take a lift directly to the heated rooftop pool and make use of the 24-hour concierge, housekeeping services, and gym.
5. Eaton Residences, Blue Pool Road
This will be an attractive option if you are interested in horse racing.
Blue Pool Road is in Happy Valley – one of Hong Kong’s most desirable neighbourhoods – which is home to the legendary Happy Valley Racecourse, as well as the Hong Kong Racing Museum, and Jockey Club.
The serviced apartments here are stylishly furnished with modern interiors and include fully-fitted kitchens.
An interesting feature here is that, if you’re planning a long stay, you’re able to fit out your apartment with your own furniture.
You’ll have exclusive access to the 24-hour private gym, outdoor swimming pool, and the beautiful rooftop garden.
6. Four Seasons Place, Finance Street, Central Region
Four Seasons Place offers you luxury serviced suites living in the heart of the Central district.
It features a full range of world class facilities, elegant and comfortable accommodation, and the famed Four Seasons service for which the hotel chain is famous.
There are more than 500 suites to choose from, ranging from small studios to three-bedroom suites and penthouses suited to family living.
It has direct access to the International Finance Centre mall – a world-class facility for shopping and dining. As an added attraction, if you’re a busy traveller, it’s directly connected to the International Airport by the Airport Express Link.
7. Victoria Harbour Residence, North Point
Set on the North Point waterfront, the Victoria Harbour Residence enjoys a panoramic view of the harbour and Kowloon East.
It provides an exceptional living experience in a world-class integrated complex by the harbour.
The serviced apartments are fully equipped and stylishly furnished.
You also have access to Club Vici, the exclusive clubhouse for all residents, providing impeccable leisure and dining facilities.
